Religious Education
Differences were not made to divide, but enrich. – J H Oldham
At Locks Heath Junior School children develop their understanding and tolerance of the ever-changing world we live in and the different beliefs people have. Children will be encouraged to become reflective, open-minded and philosophical. RE is not to tell children what to think, but rather to teach them how to think for themselves in order to develop their own opinions.
Religious Education at Locks Heath Junior School is taught in accordance with the legal requirements of the agreed syllabus for Hampshire, Living Difference IV. Its aims to improve the understanding of different religions, including Dharmic, to learn respect of others beliefs and to develop critical thinking skills and analysis.
