Year 6 Projects
Our Foundation Curriculum
The curriculum is organised into three main cross-curricular projects per year. Projects have a lead subject that is either History or Science and are enquiry based around a concept. This enables us to plan activities that demand higher order thinking through comparison, evaluation and analysis.
Each project begins with a ‘hook’ to engage the children and develop a desire to persevere with learning that is challenging.
Throughout the project, learning is memorable and experiential with children developing and refining a range of transferable skills. The project provides the content and context for much writing in English and problem solving in mathematics.
Each project culminates in an outcome where the children in some way present their learning to their parents or other members of the community.
Our foundation curriculum to reflects our core learning values of curiosity, independence, perseverance, imagination, teamwork, reflection and bravery.
