Our Vision Statement begins by stating that

‘Learning is the heartbeat of Locks Heath Junior School’.

Our curriculum has been carefully designed to be rich, engaging, challenging and fun - making the most of every learning opportunity. It responds to the needs of all learners so that everyone has the chance to reach their full potential.

Our Learning2Learn initiative has placed a huge importance on the skills needed to become even better learners encouraging children to persevere, be brave, to be curious and imaginative, to at times be independent and at others to work as a team, and then to reflect on what we have learned.

So, whether it’s taking part in chariot racing on Roman Day, creating natural works of art in our nature reserve, learning the ukulele in our purpose built music room, researching new facts on one of our many wireless netbooks, learning to swim in our indoor heated swimming pool or challenging yourself in our various extension and enrichment groups - there’s something for everyone to become passionate about learning.

And it’s not just what we think about our curriculum, Ofsted have judged that, in their last two inspections, our curriculum is and continues to be good or better.

Please follow the links to each year group’s page to read more about the curriculum your children will be experiencing.
