LOCKS HEATH JUNIOR SCHOOL UNIFORM POLICY

Navy or grey skirt/pinafore dress/culottes

Navy or grey trousers or shorts

Light blue polo shirt

Navy blue cardigan or sweater

Plain white, grey, navy or black socks (below the knee)

Navy or grey tights

Black, brown or dark blue sensible shoes (no height on heel)

Smart watches are not permitted, nor any devices that have the capacity to take photos.

PE Clothing

Plain light blue ‘T’ shirt, navy blue shorts

Children should be sensibly dressed for games lessons according to the time of year and the activity. There is no need to purchase expensive football kits but warm clothes are required for cold weather. Children who are playing games on the field in winter must have a change of socks as well as shirt and shorts.

County regulations do not permit jewellery to be worn for physical education and there is no safe storage in any of the classrooms.

PE clothing should be in school each day in a marked bag. Due to the lack of storage space, we do not allow children to bring large kit bags or rucksacks.

All children should wear a swimming hat whilst partaking in swimming lessons.

STANDARD OF DRESS

We strongly believe that the standard of dress is an important factor in maintaining the ethos and high standards of behaviour for which the school is noted.  Children will be discouraged from wearing items of clothing that do not conform to the uniform code and will be encouraged to look smart and orderly while they are in school.  We would ask that children’s hair is not braided, bleached, shaved or overly styled in anyway, as we feel these compromise the ethos of the school.  If you are unsure, please discuss with the Headteacher to check for suitability.  Discretion lies solely with the Headteacher.

Children should wear shoes to and from school but they are allowed to change into trainers for lunchtime.
