Vision and Values Statement
Locks Heath Junior school is a healthy and sustainable community where children come first. All members of the community live and learn by our ethos:
‘we respect, we thrive and we belong’.
We respect
Members of Locks Heath community respect diversity and difference. They demonstrate good conduct, form positive relationships and have excellent attitudes to learning. They celebrate each other’s successes and support each other to face challenges.
We thrive
Members of Locks Heath community learn to thrive, socially, emotionally, physically, spiritually and academically. Learning opportunities are rich, ambitious and carefully designed to ensure learners are challenged progressively and develop the skills that will support them through life.
Seven learning values are understood, practiced and ultimately internalised. These underpin all aspects of our curriculum and learning beyond the classroom. These are bravery, perseverance, curiosity, imagination, independence, reflection and teamwork. By applying these values both within and beyond the curriculum children achieve success and develop self-assurance and a strong set of skills enabling life-long learning.
We belong
Members of the Locks Heath Community wear their badge with pride. They feel connected to each other and take pride in our collective achievements where everyone is included. They develop an awareness of communities beyond our walls and develop a sense of civic responsibility.
