Hello from Avon Tyrrell!
The coach journey yesterday was swift and pleasant and we were all very excited when we arrived at the stunning house of Avon Tyrrell. The children were shown to their bedrooms and attempted to make their beds and organise themselves for the week.
After a well-received hearty meal, the children were ready to go. They have all enjoyed their first two activities, especially the kayaking. Some children have been out on the mountain bikes or deep in the woods building dens. Others have been exploring the grounds developing their map reading skills and code breaking through a geo-caching activity. The sunshine has been glorious and kept us all smiling throughout.
Today activities have continued in the sun and this afternoon we were joined by Mrs Clarke and Mrs Farrell - the children couldn't wait to tell them all about their trip so far. During pond dipping, nymphs and pond snails were discovered. Kayaking and raft building ended with some very soggy children and geocaching saw one group walking a few thousand steps - around and around the box they had a problem discovering!! The children are having a brilliant time and there is still the night walk to go.
Further updates will be added tomorrow.
