‘Where Children Come First’

Avon Tyrrell Update (2)

Here is the latest message from the team at Avon Tyrrell:

Hello again from Avon Tyrrell!

We have had fantastic weather the past three days and the children have certainly made the most out of being outside on the adventurous activities. There has been some wonderful moments and achievements had by individuals as well as teams across both classes. Not one raft has sunk and no children have fallen in the lake (on purpose) during their raft test.  Mountain bike trails have been blazed, shelters have been constructed, ponds have been dipped in and eggs have been dropped. What has been most lovely to see is the children's enthusiasm and joy when accomplishing the goals set out before them.

This evening we had the traditional Tyrrell Tournament where four teams faced off in games of rounders, basketball, crab football and normal football to see which team would arise triumphant. A few groups went out on their night hike to learn about the history of the building and the grounds whilst other groups tackled the art of bracelet making using para-cord.

The children are all tucked up in bed and have certainly made the most of the last three days here at Avon Tyrrell. We are all looking forward to coming home to share our stories with family and friends but not before a visit to the New Forest Wildlife park to learn about British wildlife and their habitats. See you all soon!
