Welcome to Locks Heath Junior School!
The Governors and staff are committed to providing your child with the best possible education. We do have a very large number of pupils but I can assure you that this does not detract from the care and attention we give to each pupil.
Our most recent Ofsted Report (June 2009) categorised our school as 'Outstanding'; a wonderful achievement that recognised the hard work, commitment and 'team spirit' of pupils, staff, governors and parents. Local Authority evaluations over the last three years have consistently supported this view. Our curriculum is broad and well balanced and promotes high levels of independence and motivation. Academic standards have remained "well above average" when compared to both national standards and to standards amoung 'similar schools'. However, the most important measure of success concerns the progress that all children, whatever their ability, make at Locks Heath Junior. The school continues to make a significant investment in learning support at both ends of the ability range.
Staff, Governors and pupils are very proud of the high standards the school achieves in all aspects of education; whether it be in academic achievement, sport or music, everybody works very hard to maintain and improve the school's high standing and good name in the community. The real strength of our school lies in the quality of the relationships that lie within. The high expectations and commitment of the staff, the support of parents and the involvement of Governors contributes to a very strong ethos that is reflected in excellent pupil attitudes and behaviour. The partnership we are able to forge with parents is absolutely paramount to this success and I sincerely hope that parents will embrace this partnership wholeheartedly.
